Cute children’s book about a little dragon named Ember. Dragons love to hoard gold and use their fearsome fiery breath and frightening roar to collect it from terrified villagers. But Ember’s roar is more like a sneeze and his fire-breathing is more “Awww” than frightening. Ember fears he will never have a pile of gold like the other dragons. Until he meets a baker and discovers there is more than one kind of gold to love (especially the kind that makes your tummy rumble!) and sharing your wealth is sometimes better than keeping it to yourself.
The story is fun, and the message is there but doesn’t hammer you over the head. Ember is a delight, and his little dragon troubles are certainly Awww-worthy. The illustrations are cute and colorful. It would be a good bedtime story- or maybe a lunchtime tale?
I got this book because one of our daughters gave me a print of the cover as a gift to add to my dragon collection, and when I found there was a book- well, I had to have that, too! And I’m glad I did. I enjoyed Ember’s story, and if you like cute dragons, fun stories, bread, and colorful pictures, you might want to add this to your shelf, no matter your age!

My latest book is a collection of very short stories, half science fiction and half fantasy, called “Crossed Wires and Other Very Short Stories”. I have also written a few other short pieces, another collection, two novels, and an urban fantasy series. You can find most of them at Smashwords, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and wherever e-books are sold. A few are also available from Amazon in paperback. My novel, “Circle Unbroken” is also on Kindle Unlimited, if that’s your reading preference. You can find out about all of them here.
There are also some stories you can read here on my site, mostly the yearly Halloween short I write, but there are a few others. You can read them from here
