Holiday Week

Today (Tuesday) is Independence Day here in the USofA. So, to all those here with me, Happy Independence Day! For those not in the US, I hope your day is a good one without the holiday.

Here in southern NY, it has rained significantly every day for the past four or five. We needed the rain, yes, but it makes it tough to get anything done outside. But I will take it, because I am sure as summer goes on, we will be wishing we had rain more than once.

We went to Hammondsport, NY to the Point of the Bluff vineyard on Saturday night to see Leonid and Friends. They are a Russian group who do covers of Chicago (mostly), Earth Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, and a few others. We have seen them before, and they put on a great show- excellent musicians and a ton of energy. We were front row this time, and after the show, I managed to snag a setlist. And picked up a t-shirt. They have a lot of videos on YouTube, so if you don’t know them and like the type of music they play, check them out.

Tucker is still doing great. Housetraining is coming along, slow but it’s going. He and Lambeau still get along very well and tire each other out running in the yard. He went to see our vet on Monday and is in good shape. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a good enough sample for the Wisdom panel people to do the DNA analysis, but they are sending me a new kit, so we will try it again. Saturday was the first time we left Tucker in his crate for a long period of time while we were at the show, and he did fine. Lambeau is used to being crated when we aren’t home, and they sleep in the crates, but this was Tucker’s first time being crated for more than a short time. He’s also figured out the nighttime routine and as soon as I give Lambeau his good night treat and put him in the crate, Tucker runs to his and sits in it and waits for me. Good boy! His other first this week will be going to daycare. We will need to board the dogs for a couple weekends in August and then for about a week in late September, so I want him to start getting used to the place. Lambeau will be with him, so that should help.

Quick reminder that the Smashwords Summer Sale is ongoing through July. All of my published stuff is included in the sale. You can find it all at www.smashwords.com/profile/view/MAKropp. Thanks in advance if you take a look, and, as always, if you pick something and enjoy it, reviews are always a good thing!

Nothing else much is going on, but I suppose that’s not necessarily a bad thing, is it?

Drink your water. Eat a vegetable. Get outside and refresh. Be nice to one another.
