It will be August in another week, right? It seems like it is far too soon for that to be true. This summer has been flying by, and it seems as if we have not really done any “summer” things. Of course, with the weather bouncing between unbearably hot and humid, and rain all day long, it’s been less that ideal on that front. Just have to try to fit as much in as we can until the cold starts coming in.
There has also been some “stuff” going on the last little while, also, and that doesn’t make anything easier. A few bigger issues, and a bunch of little annoyances that added in to the mix, always seem bigger than they really are. I would like to order a week or two of little to no drama, and calm, relaxing days, please. I might be able to catch up a bit in that case.
We did get to head out to Chenango Valley State Park here in NY on Saturday to meet up with most of my siblings and families for a nice day out. When I was growing up in northeast PA, our family and my uncle’s would go to Chenango Valley several times a summer for a day out. My Dad and uncle would golf at the course there, and Mom and Aunt Helen would take all us kids to the lake to swim and play until the golfing was done. Then, they’d light up the grills and we’d eat, play some more, and head home. So, it was really nice to go back there again. Not too much has changed. The swimming area is nicer now, with a splash pad and other fun stuff. The playground is updated with more modern play equipment, but basically, the park hasn’t changed much. It was a fun day.
We took the dogs with us since it was a nice day and we didn’t want to leave them in their crates all day long. They were really good. I was afraid we’d get more barking from Tucker, since he seems to be more “barky” than Lambeau but he was pretty good, even with my sister’s dog there. And all the strangers. He is unlike Lambeau there, too. He can be a bit hesitant with people he doesn’t know. He’s friendly but it takes him a little bit to get used to new people. Give him the time to scope you out and he’s good. Lambeau has never met anyone or anything he didn’t instantly love. And Lambeau can be a bit exuberant at times. But he was good on Saturday. My niece loved the dogs and Lambeau was not as jumpy and bouncy as he often is when she’d come over to pet and interact with him. He does give constant kisses, though, and that was in full gear! All in all, I was very happy with both of them. Good dogs!
The BaldMan sees his oncologist this week. He had another PET scan once the chemo was done, and will get the results at his appointment. And we will see where we go from there. At least the chemo is done, and he is starting to feel better and somewhat less tired.
Not much else to report. I have gotten very little writing done lately. Mostly because I have just been tired and brain dead. I am hoping things will level out a bit so I can start to think again.
Drink your water. Eat a vegetable. Get outside and refresh. Be nice to one another.
