Monday Musings: Another Day, Another Week

I hope all you Dads out there had a really nice Father’s Day, and were able to do whatever you wanted to, whether it looked like work or just chilling out and relaxing. The BaldMan did make dinner, but that’s his relaxation time, although sometimes, you would not think it’s so relaxing! He smoked some ribs that turned out really good. Maybe a little over for competition standards, but they sure tasted good! I did my part and mixed us up some rum runners in the blender. Steph came over for dinner and brought him a couple fancy salts. One is habanero, and oh, yeah, it sure is! Good amount of heat, and it tastes like habanero, also.

I also got most of the herbs potted up and on the stand on the deck. I still have one to do, but am waiting for the Baldman to use the small rosemary that’s in the pot I want to use. He should do that this week, and then I can get the lime basil potted. It’s in a good sized plastic pot now, so it will be fine until I get it in the prettier one. We bought a nice big rosemary plant and some lavender on Saturday at a garden center. We visited two that were recommended on Facebook for this area. Both were nice, and had more variety of some plants than we’ve seen, so next year, I think we will have to do some shopping around for the flowers we get. I used the big pot the lavender was in to plant the runt tomato I had in a small peat pot. It’s been looking a bit better since it’s been outside in the sun, so I decided to pot it up and see. If we get tomatoes, yay! If not, we have three others out there, so it’s okay.

Oh, and we signed the dog up for a class at a training place in Acton. It’s Beginner Attention, and I think it should do him some good. Well, me, as well, since I’m running out of ideas for getting him to settle and listen to me while ignoring distractions, particularly other dogs. If he does well in this and the next level class, we can maybe get him started on agility. I think he will definitely enjoy that!

That’s about all there is for now. Enjoy your week!
