Tuesday Thoughts: Off To A Late Start

Yeah, never got that blog post done yesterday. It just seemed like there was always something else that needed done, and by the time I actually sat down here at the computer, I decided to make this a Tuesday post.

We have a tomato on one of the plants outside! Yay! It’s tiny and green, but it’s there. And I am pretty sure there are a few teeny, tiny cucumbers starting also. And peppers galore on that plant. The lettuces in the basement continue to thrive, and the arugula is finally getting going. Oh, and guess what? More flowers! LOL The BaldMan put up hangers to put the baskets on, so we have space under the foundation plants again. Found a nice big plastic pot at Home Depot on sale, and picked up some impatiens and a “sunpatiens” for it. I think the spot under the rhododendron should be shaded enough for the impatiens and the sunpatiens is supposed to be able to take sun. Plus, it has really neat green and cream foliage.

We had a fox trotting across the back of the house a few days ago. Just jogging along at the edge of the woods until it disappeared around the corner. And there have been bunnies across the street in the evening and early morning. Lambeau is quite interested in the bunnies. I keep telling him he can’t have one. They are cute little buggers, but they better stay away from my plants!

We have a long weekend coming up here in the US. The Fourth of July is next Tuesday and the BaldMan has Monday and Tuesday off. I hope the weather clears up from what is forecast so far because that looks like an awful lot of rain on the way. Again.

Oh, hey, speaking of July, the annual Smashwords Summer/Winter Sale starts July 1. I have all my books enrolled. All the short stuff will be free, and “Circle Unbroken” and “Six of One” will be half price for the month of July. I’ll have more information at the end of the week. Meanwhile, you can check out the books and see if anything interests you at the end of this post.

I guess that’s about all I have for this late edition post. If you are celebrating the Fourth of July, enjoy your long weekend if you get one, and have fun with your friends and family. If you are not (or don’t get the long weekend), try to have some fun, anyway!!
