Monday Musings: It’s a Strange Day

Not only because it snowed again this morning, and there are still some slow flakes falling. Oh, it wasn’t enough to make roads anything more than wet, and it just coated the grass, but it was enough to be annoying. It’s April now. Can we please get on with Spring!

It is also a strange day because Lambeau isn’t here right now. He has a small growth, probably a benign mast cell tumor, on one of his front legs, and he is in to the vet’s to get it removed. I dropped him off early this morning, and we will most likely be able to bring him home later this afternoon. But it is odd not having him around. Not that he’s overly boisterous in the house during the day or anything. He naps quietly. But it’s weird not having my day interrupted by walking him and taking him out for potty breaks. There’s just a weird vibe in the house when the doggie ain’t home!

Yesterday was Easter, and it was a pretty nice day. There was a bit of wind here, and that made a jacket necessary when I walked Lambeau, but it wasn’t a terrible cold. We are back to chilly today, though.

Stephanie came for dinner. We had leg of lamb that the BaldMan cooked on the rotisserie, roasted potatoes, and asparagus with Hollandaise sauce. It was good. Stephanie recently found out that she has a gluten intolerance, and she is now working on making herself gluten free. It didn’t really impact dinner this time, since nothing we planned had gluten, anyway. We will have to be careful when she is coming over from now on. She has been having problems for a while, so she went to the doctor. She does not have Celiac, but the doctor thought her issues could be a problem with gluten intolerance and recommended she try gluten free for a couple weeks and see if it made a difference. It did. She says she feels so much better since she stopped eating foods with gluten. So, she will have to be careful what she buys since so many foods have hidden gluten additives. On the other hand, there are far more choices in gluten free foods these days.

I really hope this is the last snow we see for a long while!
