Friday Review: The Psychic Yellow Brick Road: How to Find the Real Wizards and Avoid the Flying Monkeys by Corbie Mitleid

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If you have ever thought about going to a medium or psychic, whether you are looking for insight or are just curious, you might want to read this book first. Written by a psychic medium who has been an active professional since 1994, this book is a firsthand guide to what psychics can and can’t do, and what you should do to prepare for a reading, and what you should expect. Written in a light, conversational style, the book presents scenarios and questions from Mitleid’s own experience, and outlines the problems, questions, and expectations that often accompany someone who consults a psychic practitioner. (Hint: There are no easy answers, but there can be clarity and guidance if approached in the right way.)

For those interested in consulting a psychic or medium for the first time, the book gives practical advice on realistic expectations and how to prepare for your consultation in a way that will be most productive. If you have used a psychic in the past, this book might give some insight into making your consultations even more effective. And for those just curious, it gives a glimpse into the world of a practicing psychic medium- the good and the bad ones.

I found it an interesting read. It’s light and easy to understand, without a lot of mumbo-jumbo. The examples given are from Mitleid’s practice and experience. Anyone interested in the world of psychic practice would benefit from reading this.
