Friday Review: Getting Reviews Marketing Your Book – Reaching Bloggers Podcasts Radio TV and More! (Author’s Essentials Series 14) by Lisa Shea

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

It was free, so I decided to check it out. As an independently published author, it can be difficult to juggle all the hats you have to wear, and the marketing one is (I suspect) almost everyone’s least favorite. So, when I saw that this book claimed to give advice on reaching more avenues for getting word out about your books, I decided to give it a read.

The style is light and easy to read, and the book is broken into small sections that are quickly read through. Unfortunately, there really isn’t a lot of new information in here. It seems to dimply rehash everything that is already available online. Of course, there is the advantage of having it all in one place here, and once you have the book, you can go back and reread any piece without digging around on the internet. There is some helpful advice in the book, and if you are looking for a primer on the ways to attempt to get those reviews from more than your mother and your best friend, this book can point you in some of the right directions.
