That’s what the calendar says, but it seems way too early to be that late, if that makes any sort of sense! I guess I am going to have to get my mind made up on what to make for dessert, huh? It’s a little difficult here because I have to be aware of the gluten free family member, and either plan something that doesn’t use gluten or make a separate gluten free dessert. And if I decide to go one gluten free, I can’t just make anything and adjust the recipe to use gluten free flour because we also have someone (Who Shall Remain Nameless) that makes sour faces at those types of things. There are a lot desserts that don’t use wheat flour, but too many of them just don’t seem like Thanksgiving to me. I guess I will need to do some Googling….
I am also planning on starting some Christmas baking. Not doing a lot this year, partly because I don’t want to have a whole mess of sweets hanging around and partly due to the above. I do make a batch of each cookie gluten free, so that’s double the baking, but you do what you gotta.
I don’t think I am going to make my Reading Challenge goal this year. But I have suspected for the last few that I am getting close to the number of books I can read in any one year overall, so if I get somewhere close, I’ll be happy.
We are fast approaching winter, aren’t we? Around here, a lot of the trees are bare or almost bare already, and there is a good blanket of fall leaves on all the gardens and yard. Most of the color is gone with the fallen leaves, as well. Now, we just wait for that first snow to hit. Not too soon, though, please. I still have a small bit of outside clean up to do. I did set up the two AeroGardens now for winter herbs. I have thyme and basil growing, and just added parsley and cilantro seeds. I have had trouble with cilantro in the past, but this variety is supposed to be slow bolting (which shouldn’t matter as much inside but…) so we will see if it takes.
It looks like I may have to bite the bullet and get a new phone. I noticed a bit ago that one corner of my phone wasn’t solidly in the case and when I took the phone out to see what was going on, I discovered it is broken in that corner. The front is separating from the body of the phone. It still works. Mostly. It’s getting trickier to swipe on the screen now. Sometimes, it just won’t scroll. So- I hate phone shopping. They are all soooo expensive. But it’s such a necessary thing these days. Maybe I can get a good Black Friday deal.
And that’s about that for this past week. Drink your water. Eat a vegetable. Get outside and refresh. Be nice to one another.
