Monday Musings: It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like….

Well, you know, right? I have the house done, and we got our tree on Saturday. It’s a beautiful balsam- nicely shaped and full, but not so full it takes up the entire room. Lights are on it and I will get the ornaments done. Many thanks, as usual, to our friends at Lawndale Farm in Tyngsborough MA for another lovely tree.

This is cookie baking week for me. I promised Will I would make him some Star Wars cookies (I have the ships cookie cutter set), and send them to him, so the cutouts will be the first ones done. I am also planning pecan fingers (which are Mexican wedding cakes or snowballs shaped into logs. I may do some balls, too), peanut blossoms, chocolate chip, date bars, and spritz. It will be a busy week, but I do like to bake and I don’t bake sweets very often. I think it will be fun. Although, I am also sure by the end of the week, I will be baked-out for a while!

Christmas this year will be a bit less hectic, although it looks like we will be able to actually have Christmas on Christmas. Working around schedules is making holidays a bit more fluid now. We will miss our daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids in England, although I am sure we will find time to do a video call in there somewhere. This internet is a wonderful thing sometimes, yes?

And just a quick note that this will be the last week of blog posts until the New Year arrives. I’m going to take Christmas week off and just enjoy life for a few days. I hope your holidays, whatever you celebrate, are joyful, happy, merry, and bright, and your new year starts off on a high note.

Also, keep in mind that my books are all going on sale at Smashwords starting on Christmas Day and running until New Year’s Day. Many will be free, and others at half off. Nothing like some new reading material for the New Year!
