Sorry for the lack of post last Monday. The only excuse I have is that it was the start of NaNoWriMo and I didn’t want to get behind on week one. As of the end of the week, I was about 39 words ahead of my personal schedule, so I was happy. No, 39 words isn’t whole lot, but it is ahead of schedule and that is a good thing. Now to maintain that pace through this week.
That’s my plan. One week at a time, and during that week, one day at a time. So far, I have been able to pull out some writing time in the morning (not my best time of day!). I put in a few hundred words there. Then, in the afternoon- which is my best writing time- I can get the rest of the day’s goal, and with luck, a little extra, done.
So, where am I? Well, at the end of last week, I was at 11,389 words. Not too bad, really. The NaNo figures would put me a bit behind, but I do take weekends off and their word count goals don’t take that into account. I have built my schedule to accommodate that which accounts for the difference. It works out by the end of the month.
In other news, Middle Daughter moved to her own place last week. Fun part is, on the day she moved out of here completely, she found out she was being transferred to a different store- the one that is about 5 minutes from our house! Figures, right? Not that she’s that far away at her apartment, but it is more than a few minutes. Oh, well, that’s how it is sometimes, isn’t it?
We are starting to see some Fall color here now. A lot of the trees in our immediate neighborhood are past color, but driving around, the hills are looking more like Fall these days. And the mornings have been quite chilly! There’s been some frost on the roof, grass, and cars in the early AM. Some higher elevations back in New England have gotten snow already. It’s coming!
So, onward to another week of falling leaves, sweaters and ear warmers, and writing, writing, writing! Let’s all enjoy this one, okay?
