Or at least beginning to feel that way? This weather has been crazy! It’s been warm and breezy so many days lately, and we are into November. I am not a huge fan of winter, but by this point, I do expect the temps to be a bit colder. Not complaining really, but wow, it’s weird to be able to go out in just a light jacket.
It’s been so nice, I can still harvest dill, rosemary, chives and thyme from the herb garden. Well, and oregano, but that one loves its spot so much, I can clip some pretty much all year. I have broken down the veggie gardens, and harvested the last peppers and collards. I have the indoor herbs started in the AeroGrows and will get pots of small tomatoes and jalapenos started. It will be nice to have some fresh stuff through the winter (assuming it actually gets to winter!).
Puppy news is not much new, really. We’ve settled on a basic routine to give everyone some time to burn energy and then some down time so I can get some things done. And getting her out for regular potty breaks, of course. She’s learning her basic behaviors pretty well, though I do have to start some regular training sessions soon. Up to now, it’s been reinforcing things she does spontaneously – sit, crate for food, things like that- but it’s time to start getting some real work in.
Not much else new here. I’ve been trying to stay off social media and such for a bit. It’s just too much right now. Do what you need to do to stay sane, whatever your opinions are. Drink your water. Eat a vegetable. Get outside and refresh. Be nice to one another.
My latest book is a collection of very short stories, half science fiction and half fantasy, called “Crossed Wires and Other Very Short Stories”. I have also written a few other short pieces, another collection, two novels, and an urban fantasy series. You can find most of them at Smashwords, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and wherever e-books are sold. A few are also available from Amazon in paperback. My novel, “Circle Unbroken” is also on Kindle Unlimited, if that’s your reading preference. You can find out about all of them here.
There are also some stories you can read here on my site, mostly the yearly Halloween short I write, but there are a few others. You can read them from here
