Happy New Year!

So.

Out with the old; in with the new, right? And, none too soon, as many are saying. I am not going to tell you I don’t agree with that. For the most part, 2020 was a special year. Between the pandemic, political shenanigans, travel bans, restrictions on gatherings and social interaction, and all the other stuff that got packed into a measly 365 days- well, it was a year. But through it all, we did know we would get here to the last day of 2020, right on time. Like every other year that has gone by, and all the ones ahead. We persisted, each in our own way. We did, or we didn’t. We accomplished, or we slid. We made progress, or we spun our wheels. Whatever it meant, it’s done and behind us.

We move forward. We buckle on the armor, pick up the shield and sword, and move out into a new year. Because that’s what we have to do. There’s no other way, unless you intend to become a hermit and reject the rest of the world. Go forth, and do it with purpose.

I hope you all have the upgraded armor, the strongest shield, and the brightest sword. I hope your New Year is happy, healthy, and prosperous. I hope you get all you need and even a good bit of what you want. Most of all, I hope you have an overabundance of kindness, joy, hope, love, and peace in your lives. Let’s all make this a good year. We can be better, and more than anything else, what this world needs right now is better.

Enjoy this last day of 2020. Look forward to 2021. Be well. Be blessed. Just be.
