Lambeau is doing fine. He has gotten visibly bigger since we brought him home just a few weeks ago. Had him to the vet for his second set of shots. He goes back next month for the last round, and his rabies. He will start on heartworm medication, as well. The vet did think he … Continue reading Monday Musings: Puppy Update, She’s Moving Out!, and C-c-c-c-cold

Monday Musings: Puppy In The House, Piano Tuning, and the Chili Cookoff I May Regret
Could someone please remind me why I wanted a puppy? I am kidding. Sort of. I mean, he is stinkin' cute, but boy, oh, boy, is he ever a puppy. There are times when all you hear in the house is: Lambeau, No! Lambeau, Off! Bad Dog! He is not really a terrible dog. He … Continue reading Monday Musings: Puppy In The House, Piano Tuning, and the Chili Cookoff I May Regret

Monday Musings: Bringing the Magic Back
I have always loved to write. For as long as I remember, I have been writing: stories, essays, even a few (terrible) poems. Writing has been so many things to me, and at times, far more than just a creative endeavor. It has been my best friend, where I can talk about fear, pain, sorrow, … Continue reading Monday Musings: Bringing the Magic Back

Monday Musings: Puppy!
As many of you know, we had to euthanize our chocolate Lab at twelve years old recently. We knew we would get another dog fairly soon, but I intended to wait until after the holidays. Not that our holiday season is hectic, or includes a lot of travel, and such, but it is a busier … Continue reading Monday Musings: Puppy!

Friday Review: On Hiatus
Just a quick post to say that the Friday Reviews will be on hiatus until after the holidays. With all the hustle and bustle (which seems to be even more hustling and bustling this year for some reason), I have not been reading as much, and so am falling behind. I am hoping to be … Continue reading Friday Review: On Hiatus

Monday Musings: The Best Dog in the Whole Wide World
We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle; easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we would still live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan. ― Irving Townsend We lost … Continue reading Monday Musings: The Best Dog in the Whole Wide World

Monday Musings: The Sound of- No, I Can’t Call It Music.
Last week, the TV presented us with a new performance of Rogers and Hammerstein's classic musical, The Sound Of Music, starring Carrie Underwood as Maria. Now, from the previews, I had no expectation that this was going to be any good, so we did not watch it when it aired. However, after reading some of … Continue reading Monday Musings: The Sound of- No, I Can’t Call It Music.

Monday Musings: Thanksgiving, Head Colds, and The End of November
Thanksgiving. The holiday for, well, giving thanks. As usual, we spent it with family. This year was a bit different, however, since Krysta's mother-in-law is visiting from Brazil. She is quite allergic to cats, and so the only places that would be big enough to hold all of the people coming both have cats, we … Continue reading Monday Musings: Thanksgiving, Head Colds, and The End of November

Friday Fumble: Where Does The Day Go?
No, I haven't finished Wicked yet. I'm getting there, but I just don't seem to have time to read these days. And I have no idea why. Well, I guess I do, at least a little. I am getting stuff done here, and I am doing more dinner prep these days, but it still seems I … Continue reading Friday Fumble: Where Does The Day Go?

Monday Musings: Cat Troubles, NaNoWriMo: Yes or No?, and Other Stuff
I had to take one of the foster kitties up to the shelter to see their vet last week. Winston has been losing weight and seemed a bit "off". Nothing specific, just not himself. The vet initially thought it was hyperthyroid, since weight loss in older cats is often a sign of thyroid issues. They … Continue reading Monday Musings: Cat Troubles, NaNoWriMo: Yes or No?, and Other Stuff
